Crianza acquires three Etihad 787-9s
Crianza Aviation, the widebody lessor funded by Korean equity, has successfully added three Boeing 787-9 aircraft to its portfolio. The aircraft were delivered new to Etihad Airways in November 2018, January and February 2019 and are all subject to long-term leases. The transactions were funded by Nord/LB, FAB, KEB Hana Bank and Woori Bank as senior lenders. Korean institutional investors served as mezzanine financiers. EastMerchant acted as arranger and asset manager to the transaction in cooperation with Newnham/Cerritos who were arranger and advisor of the Korean financing structures.
The first aircraft delivered in November 2018 received a spectacular entrance to Etihad Airways’ fleet. About 60,000 people watched the 787-9 aircraft fly-over at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The special livery of the aircraft was designed to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.
